The NHL celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, and the league is celebrating with a new holiday tradition.
is a tradition that has been held annually since the 1980s, but this year it’s a new one.
The celebration begins on Monday, Feb. 6, and lasts until Sunday, Feb 14.
The festivities start with a parade through downtown Los Angeles with the Los Angeles Angels at the center.
It ends with a candlelight vigil in the Hollywood Hills for the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
The event is also scheduled to coincide with the NHL Hall of Fame induction ceremonies in December.
